How much does it cost to rent live printing?
There’s no single sticker price, but there are real anchors. Here’s what drives the number and roughly where a rental lands.
A live printing rental is priced as a package, not a per-item shelf rate, because the same rig serves very different events. That said, you don’t have to fly blind. A fully-staffed local station in Southern California typically starts around $5,000 — that covers the rig, the operator, setup, and teardown for the event window.
From there, the number moves with a few clear levers. Additional operators or a second station run about $250 per hour of staffing. Travel outside Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Diego adds a $900 travel fee. Blanks are billed at cost plus prep, so premium hoodies and embroidered caps cost more than basic tees. And longer events — more setup, more run hours, teardown — scale accordingly.
What makes a quote go up or down
- Guest count & hours: more throughput means more staffing and more blanks.
- Product mix: tees are the budget floor; hoodies, hats, and embroidery cost more.
- Travel: local dates skip the travel fee; farther bookings include freight and load-in.
- Artwork: clean vector art is quick; recoloring or digitizing adds prep.

Why not just publish a flat price?
Because a 150-guest reception and a 900-guest festival need completely different staffing, hours, and blank volume. A flat rate would overcharge the small event and under-deliver on the big one. A quick quote is more accurate for everyone.
Is the $5,000 anchor per hour or for the event?
It's a starting anchor for a staffed local station across the event window - setup, run time, and teardown - not a per-hour rate. Longer or larger events scale up from there.
Do you charge travel within Southern California?
No travel fee applies within Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Diego. The $900 travel fee applies outside those areas; farther bookings also account for freight and load-in.
